Patrese: Schumacher Performance Descending

ROME - Former F1 driver Riccardo Patrese, Michael Schumacher was slightly decreased ability than in its heyday in the 1990's and 2000's. Patrese also assess racers in those days better than today's racers.

Schumacher has become a phenomenon when it began his career with Jordan and the F1 title with Benetton. At that time, a sort of legendary driver Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell and Riccardo Patrese is still actively racing, and Schumacher's success through their domination.

"Michael (Schumacher) to race with riders like (Ayrton) Senna, (Nigel) Mansell and myself, and quickly proved he could be competitive and better," said Patrese, disitat of PlanetF1, Wednesday (29/02/2012).

Patrese who is now 57-year-old has turned out to keep abreast of information about F1GP. He recognizes this driver now has a good performance, but the level is not as good as the drivers that surround Schumacher in the early 1990s.

"Now the F1 has a rider like (Lewis) Hamilton and (Sebastian) Vettel looks very nice but I do not think they are all better than Senna, Mansell racers or anyone who is around Michael, when he began his career in F1," he explained.

Given the lack of success of Schumacher after his return from retirement, the aging Italian men make a conclusion, "So I think Michael's performance level slightly below the level of her performance in the heyday."

Schumacher Not Have the Best Cars

Former F1 driver Riccardo Patrese, have a strong reason behind the performance standards addressed Michael Schumacher. According to Patrese, most likely it's because the car is used Schumacher is not the best.

Schumacher is the seven-time world champion F1GP. The number of titles it shows how good the German man in the race, and all of that enough to make him a living legend F1. Now, after his return from retirement, Schumacher failed to repeat the great performance, and Patrese has a reason.

"Michael proved himself against the best racers when he started his Formula One so he when he could not face the best racers in the present, maybe it's because he does not have the best car," said Patrese, Wednesday (29/2 / 2012).

Patrese also aware of the big difference in Schumacher figure in the past and the present. "But, in the past without a good car he was still able to make a difference, but now he cannot make a difference," he added.

Patrese was right, because Schumacher won in 1994 and 1995 using race car from the Benetton team. Patrese who had to race against someone who is familiarly called Schumi was felt there was a difference in the performance of Schumacher in the past and present.

"If he has the best car now, he can still win, but in the past, even without the best car, he could win," he said.
