Button looks impressive in the race. After taking over the course of the race from his teammate, Lewis Hamilton, who took pole position but less than perfect start, Button was overtaken again for a third victory at the Australian GP.
"After the race, people ask me if we were already expected to be performed quickly in Australia. But, I told them that it was beyond expectation," said Button, world champion in 2009.
"Of course, we've made a lot of calculations after winter testing, but you never know for sure if other teams come up with a full fuel, or they hide the actual speed."
"So, the results of this first series of positive-McLaren took pole, fastest lap and victory, and a complete picture for the team."
British rider, who beat world champion Sebastian Vettel in the race the first series, said that the performance of McLaren is a great entertainment for the team. This is something that makes them more motivated to push harder.
Regarding the second series in Malaysia this weekend, Button remained optimistic about his chances. However, he acknowledged that the challenge of its rivals will be even greater, especially from the Red Bull Racing duo, Vettel and Mark Webber.
"I think this race has shown that there are some top teams in Formula 1, and I think we can expect them to fight for victory in Malaysia. Two Red Bull is very fast, and I think we will get a serious challenge from the Mercedes and Lotus this weekend. "
"Of course we cannot relax, and we went to Malaysia to prepare for a tight battle."
