Lotus: Grosjean Got Potential World Champion

Lotus team principal, Eric Boullier, Romain Grosjean feel confident performance at the Bahrain GP has given evidence that he has the potential to be world champion. In a race won by the Red Bull Racing, Grosjean finished third.

This is the greatest achievement in the arena Grosjean Formula 1. But what makes Boullier impressed is the speed of the Swiss rider who fly the French flag, which can be close to his teammate, Kimi Raikkonen.

"More than the finish on the podium, what is impressive is the fact that he finished so close to Kimi (finished second), and they are only 10 seconds behind Sebastian Vettel," says Boullier told Autosport when asked about the performance of Grosjean.

"I do not think that our two drivers to finish so close together.

"That means that he now has the ability and ready to compete at the highest level. He has speed and talent to become world champion one day."

With the fact that the two drivers finished in second and third, increasingly confident Lotus Boullier can achieve success this season. The reason, they have a squad capable and resilient.

Regarding Raikkonen, who had returned to the F1 arena after a break since the end of the 2009 season, Boullier was quite impressed. But he hoped the 2007 world champion could further improve its performance.

"Someone's coming again," says Boullier. "He has showed it many times that he has the speed. When he needs recovery, from a poor qualifying race, he was able to do so.

"He needs a little time for recovery, after a two year absence and he showed it this weekend who he is."
